The limited overhang of the bow is key to the YOD’s success as a light displacement boat designed for rough water.
“The plans show very clearly why she is a fast boat. Note the long, easy diagonals.”
“Note in the cross sections, the tapered frames, method of fastening them in the floors, sloping washboards, and folding seats.”
There are a variety of plans available for the Yankee One Design Class.

Who is managing the website? I’d like to help, if needed, and I’d like to connect to the other owners.
Hi Tom,
I’d love to have your help with the site. Email me and lets talk.
I have a Y.O.D. Project planned that is unique & may be of interest! I have been saving funds for executing this project to build the 1/3 larger version which John Whit had planned to do, when Bankruptcy sealed the fate of Stone Boat Works!
My name is Brad Clerk. My brother and I own Flotsam, Y42 for the past 20 years. My mom used to take us sailing on
it in the past before we bought it from Kelleher family. My great uncle was John Linderman, who built it.
We have kept it in the bay area and sail it and always keep it in excellent shape.
Greetings to you,
I am keen to purchase a set of plans to build a new boat. Are any available?
Many thanks
